When shopping for solar modules (panels), always insist on solar panels using solar cells which have been cut from a solid silicon ingot.

Many of the solar panels currently on the market use silicon that is not cut from solid silicon ingots which may offer lower efficiencies, poorer tolerances or lesser warranties.
